GG = Good Group (Usually, sometimes contextual)
LFM = Looking for Monk (However, I've seen it to sometimes mean "Looking for More")
CAP = Skill Capture (Parties leaving for the primary purpose of killings bosses and capturing skills)
DOT = Damage over Time. (I'm a little unsure myself, but I believe skills like either drain HP, such as Conjure Phantasm or skills that damage after a certain amount of time, such as Backfire)
AOE = ??? (I still don't know. Some clarification would be much appreciated)
Nuker = I'm not too sure, but I believe it means players (Usually Elementalists) that can "unload" massive amounts of damage at one time.
GVG = Guild versus Guild
HOH = Hall of Heroes (PVP area, I believe)
UW = Underworld (Upper Lvl Area)
FOW = Fissure of Woe (Upper Lvl Area)

AOE= area of effect. generally any spell that does damage over an area is called either AOE or simply AE.

Nuker is a mage who uses spells to BLOW S*(% up. perhaps a tribute to old school final fantasy games where nuke was the big damage spell?

lol, I'm old school. On the left is the acronym usually used and on the right is what I almost always have to say.

LFG: anyone want to party for...
WTS: selling
WTB: I never use this one
Mob: creeps or baddies
AOE: splash

as another thought, the nuke term may indeed be a tribute to the old school games but I would bet all my cash that it's actually a reference to NUCLEAR WEAPONS

The term mobs is actually a short term for mobiles, or any 'attackable' computer controlled creature.

Nuke does come from a nuclear reference, to nuke is to use a spell that does high damage.

Just to clarify, AoE is not splash, in alot of games there is a notable difference from AoE damage and splash damage. Luckily, GW is not one of those games.

PBAoE means point blank Area of Affect damage, spells like Lava Font are PBAoE. Techically, I spose Phoenix would be PBAoE too.

GG can mean good group, more often it means good game though. (imo)

WTF is an important one no one touched on, it means What The Duck!

WTH means What The Bell!

The most imporant abbreviation that everyone should know, but very very few GW players do know is RUN.

Run means to flee, move out of the area at accelerated speeds, to avoid conflict. It is not an actual abbreviation, but it seems that most people think it is, because when someone says RUN, people dont. So they are obviously thinking "hrm, wonder what that abbreviation R-U-N means?

To me they mean "dont party with or buy from me"

If you dont have the time to type out an extra 5-10 characters, you are far to impatient, or lazy for me to want to deal with.
(:
